Sasha Payne

Sasha is an undergraduate Music student at the University of Edinburgh. She grew up performing in concerts as a pianist, but has developed as a musician with an interest in the world of composition for film and television; recently she collaborated on a group composition for the 2019 short film ‘Walter’ by Lorenzo Fresta. 

 

Her love for the creative arts is intrinsically linked with her involvement in social activism. Her recent research explored social consciousness in African American film music and the role of music as a transformative political tool. She hopes to continue her music journey with a wider purpose of contributing to a more promising future.
