Tinderbox – Fringe Show
Scotland’s most progressive orchestra take on the Pianodrome – an intimate 100 seat amphitheatre made entirely from upcycled pianos.
Every Sunday throughout August (4th, 11th, 18thand 25th) the 20-strong Tinderbox Orchestra, featuring some of Scotland’s most talented young musicians, will be joined by a rotating cast of special guests in Edinburgh’s most unique and exciting new Fringe venue, The Pianodrome. The intimate, hundred-seat amphitheatre made entirely from upcycled pianos will play host to an explosive and varied set from the Edinburgh based ensemble. From Hip Hop to Singer/Songwriters, Trad Folk to Alternative Rock, the orchestra will showcase a selection of their many collaborations and original compositions. Guests include the endlessly creative trio of violin, accordion and saxophone, S!nk; the beautiful, hypnotic and rawBrave Little Note; an award-winning eclectic ensemble from the North East of China, Dawanggang,and a very special secret guest as part of a ‘Made in Scotland’ showcase.

Fiercely independent, Tinderbox combine core values of inclusivity and togetherness with an ambition to hit the highest levels of creativity and originality. Driven by an unshakable desire to help people grow in confidence through music, they have run workshops with thousands of children & young people, gathered an international cast of professional collaborators, produced a variety of award-winning and experimental productions, and transformed preconceptions of what an orchestra can be.
