Tinderbox Online Music School

On Saturday mornings, we run a series of fun and affordable, small group, online community music lessons for young people aged 10 to 18.

From guitar, keyboard and songwriting to strings, brass, woodwind, and music production; we can offer a wide range of grouped beginner to intermediate lessons – alongside spaces to share, perform, chat, & hang out!

Sign ups for the Oct-Dec 2023 term are now open!
Lessons will run from 10am – 11am 🎶

School Term Dates

Oct - Dec 2023 Term

Oct 28th –  Dec 16th  | Every Sat | 10am – 11am

The Online Music School will run every Saturday from 10am to 11am!
At 10am we will meet for a hello, a welcome, & a song or a game, before all jumping into our groups for grouped instrument lessons & music sessions 🎶

After the lesson, the school will regroup for an open mic session! Where you can share what you learned, sing a song, play a piece, tell a joke – the stage is yours!

End of Term Concert

Tuesday 12th Dec | 6-8pm | Muirhouse Millennium Centre
• ! This subject to change ! •

As the term approaches it’s close, we will have an in-person (possibly hybrid!)  concert and community get-together for the end of term! Bringing together our other clubs across Edinburgh to share their music and art, celebrate all our hard work, and even perform and jam a few songs together 🎵 Family & Friends will be welcome to join and celebrate with us!

Instrument Libraries

We are developing an instrument library alongside We Make Music Scotland, where people can loan out instruments from public libraries. In Edinburgh you can find instruments at the following libraries: Craigmillar, Drumbrae, Muirhouse, Wester Hailes, Moredun, and the music library at Central library. Plus there are more instrument libraries in Fife (Lochgelly) , North Ayrshire (Kilwinning and Harbour Arts Centre), & we hope that more open across the country!

If you want to learn an instrument at our music school but don’t have one at home, or if you want to try a new instrument, get in touch and we can help direct you towards the libraries: admin@tinderboxcollective.org
