Tinderbox Sparks – Aurora (Autumn-Winter Term 2024)

Tinderbox SPARKS is our original band and orchestra for players aged S1- S6 who are Grade 1- Grade 5 (as a guide) or who can play 5 or more notes on their instrument.

Each term we compose a completely new piece on a scientific theme that is given to us by our wonderful hosts and partners at Dynamic Earth. In the past we have written for their ice exhibit, as well as many themes for the the shows that are put on at the Planetarium. These include Climate Change, the Sun, Deep Sea exploration, and more.

This term we have been working on the theme of Aurora Borealis, which has led to an absolutely brilliant track that everyone was incredibly proud to share at our end of term performance in Dynamic Earth’s Planetarium!
